Volodymyr Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, declares that Ukraine needs a transparent and effective anti-corruption law.

Asked about the possible adoption of the said Law on Thursday, V.Lytvyn responded, "I declare that it will be adopted." "Even if somebody is not willing to vote in favour of it, they will vote, considering the public moods," he admitted.

The Head of the Parliament stressed, "What we need is not another tick, but a transparent and effective law."

V.Lytvyn informed that the subject Committee was working over the amendments to the bill jointly with the Central Judicial Office of the Secretariate of The Verkhovna Rada. The People´s Deputies will scrutinize the bill at the morning sitting on Thursday. "We will scrutinize it clause-by-clause, considering all the amendments to make every vote responsible.  We will do our best not to commission other institutions with interpretation of the bill and regulation of its implementation," he stressed.

According to the Head of the Parliament, if the deputies fail to reach an agreement on particular clauses of the bill, it will be submitted for the third reading.

"Still, I emphasize that this Law will be adopted," the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine declared.
